Today I am going to share one of my other passions with you, natural perfumery. I had the opportunity to try two fragrances from the Cream Perfume Company : Mimosa bouquet and Rose de rosee. These perfumes are composed of certified organic essential oils and absolutes as well as plant and fruit extracts.
Mimosa bouquet makes me think of bright yellow flowers in a garden. The scent is a vibrant floral that conjures the warmth of sunlight and golden blossoms. A friend of mine was captivated by the scent and asked me what I was wearing. Mimosa bouquet seemed to her like an arrangement of tropical flowers. I think she was responding to the orange blossom and gardenia. If I bought my wrist to my nose and closed my eyes, I could easily feel like I was on vacation.
Organic Rose de rosee is a classic fragrance. The roses seem like the older, vintage varieties I encounter at the Morris Arboretum or at the rose garden in Philadelphia. The scent is a lovely, sweet floral. It's comparable to the aroma of inhaling the scent of an heirloom pink rose. Gorgeous!
Although wear time is very much based on skin and body chemistry, I found both scents to be noticeably fragrant for about three hours. I am testing these during warmer weather. They would likely have more staying power in the cooler months. I find the strength of the scents to be perfect. They have enough throw that I am aware of them and can enjoy the fragrance. The scents don't project too far from the body to be distracting to others or leave an olfactory trail.
The perfume is blended in a base of sweet almond oil and beeswax. I am really impressed with the formula. I carried the containers in my purse for about a week to test the solidity at different temperatures. In humid, 90 degree F weather (32 degrees C), the perfume remained solid. Creme perfumes are perfect for travel or to keep with you for touch up application.
The natural formula is free of pthalates, sulfates, petrochemicals, synthetic dyes, triclosan, GMO, PPG, MEA, DEA, TEA and formaldehyde. Does it make you wonder what ingredients are in your current fragrance?

Organic Forest terre: nutmeg, orange, elemi, patchouli, and cedar.
Organic Vanilla reve: vanilla, mandarin, apricot, jasmine, violet, and vanilla.

Organic Rasberry des champs: raspberry accord, bitter almonds, rosewood, mimosa, rose and vanilla.
Organic Rose de rosee: rose, geranium, palmarosa, violet, caramella and patchouli.

Jasmine Floriental: bergamot, lavender, coriander, Turkish rose, jasmine, iris, cedarwood, Indonesian patchouli, vetiver, civet, oakmoss, sandalwood, musk, vetiver and benzoin.
Ylang ylang d'amore: ylang ylang, mandarin, jasmine, apricot, cedarwood, orange flower and musk.
Mimosa bouquet: orange blossom, green notes, mimosa, gardenia, carnation, Turkish rose, Madagascar vanilla and musk.
Melon d'eau: orange, melon, violet, jasmine, lily of the valley, marine accord and musk.
Mango poudre: mango, cassis, jasmine and candy sugar accord.
Apricot chypre: black currant, apricot, green notes, lily of the valley, raspberry, jasmine, sandalwood and musk.
I'm interested in trying some of the other blends especially the Forest terre, Jasmine Floriental, and Mango poudre. The Lavender ecume appeals to me as a relaxing fragrance to apply at bedtime.
The perfume is set in jars made from Canadian birch. I wholly appreciate the aesthetic packaging. The experience of holding the wooden jar feels pleasing to the senses. You can see the unique pattern of the wood grain and it has a natural touch. The shape of the jar reminds me of vintage cosmetic containers from the 1940s and 50s. It's equally enjoyable to use as to display on a dresser or vanity. My creme perfumes are sitting atop a mirrored tray.
