I was just catching up over on Scrangie's blog and I came across a post that Carolyn NY is out of business, but they have charged peoples credit cards and not shipped the orders.
Please check out Scrangies post on this for all the information!

In the comments section, one of her readers lived fairly close to the Carolyn NY warehouse and took a drive over to it this past weekend to see if it was indeed open or not. She reported back that there was signs displaying that it was Carolyn NY but that it appeared to be shut down, with For Sale signs.

DOES YOUR EMAIL NOT WORK???
OPEN LETTER TO NAIL POLISH COMPANIES:
If you have a website up and you clearly have a CONTACT US button with an email address, and I contact you, don't you think I DESERVE a response back? It's the LEAST you could do for someone that PAYS your bills, because really, that's what WE all do when we buy a bottle (or 20) of your product.
I would think that IN THIS ECONOMY (I can't believe I just said that) you would be falling all over yourself to keep your customers happy. Especially when your product is certainly not one of necessity. How hard could it be to take a few minutes and actually respond to someone who took time out of their day and their busy schedule to send you an email? Is YOUR time more precious than MINE?? And I KNOW damn good and well most of ya'll sitting in your office responding and sending your own PERSONAL emails on company time. I know this because I do it too, but I don't neglect my company related emails, and they certainly come before my personal ones.
One would also think that when you get an email and I specifically say that I write a blog and SEVERAL people would be interested in finding out the answer to the question I so thoughtfully took the time to send you, that you would mos. def. want to respond. I don't feel more deserving of an answer because I write a blog, but I do think you would see it as a way to spread good word about your company through the masses, and by masses I mean Nail Polish Freaks, like myself, who read nail polish blogs, who buy nail polish by the dozens, who change their polish daily, who own enough polish to open their own salon, & who also happen to be YOUR customers.
If you don't have time to respond to emails then please TAKE DOWN YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. What's the point of posting one if you have no desire to respond?? It is a waste of my time, frustrating, and becoming a down right pet peeve to send YOU an email that you know you will never respond to. Save us BOTH the time and take down your email address.
Thanks,
Brooke B.
I am fed up to here (reaching as far above my head as I can!) with companies that don't answer their emails. And by companies, I mean NAIL POLISH companies. . . . . . and by nail polish companies I mean - SINFUL COLORS, PURE ICE, LOVE MY NAILS, CAROLYN NY..... (there is more of ya, so don't be smilin' if I didn't mention your name)

Of course I would LOVE to email you this letter direct, but I think we all know how THAT turns out . . . . . .

AMOUR - UNIQUE RUBY SWATCHES
Remember when I told you all about Amour - Unique Ruby I ordered from Trans Design? If not, click here and refresh ya-self!
I thought I was going to have to wait until my nails grew out longer before I would be able to swatch this. However, I figured out a way to still be able to swatch this , even with my nails as short as they are. Yes, I was that excited to try this out. I just painted two fingers with the black polish base, and two fingers were left with out the black polish base. Then I just split my thumb nail in half, and painted half black and left the other side unpolished, before I went over all my nails with Amour - Unique Ruby.

The black polish I used.

One coat each of the Carolyn NY and the Amour.
My thumb nail with only half of it polished with Black Out In The Bronx.

I must say I am underwhelmed with this. After all the talk of Contrasting Absorption, and Dual Color Effects and Interference Reflection - I guess was just expecting something more, like what they claimed would happen. I even took pictures in the sun, thinking that was where it was going to really "WOW" me, especially since it claims this nail polish "turns light into color". Ho-hum! I actually thought the shade pictures looked better than the full sun pics.
I feel as though I could get this same effect using one of the new China Glaze Summer Collection nail polishes over black. The formula of the polish was good, I had no complaints with that at all. I feel like if you claim it will happen Amour, then dag-nab-it, that's what I expect to happen! HA!
Would love to hear if anyone else has tried this polish and what your results and thoughts on it are!
GRAY & BLACK HEARTS SWATCHES
I swatched my Carolyn NY polishes I just ordered on the Valentine's Day special. I ordered the Gray & Black Hearts collection. These polishes were all very easy to apply. The pictures below are with no top coat.

(This color was so pigmented! This is only ONE COAT!!!) This was like putting melted chocolate on my nails! :)

A very nice, glossy black.

This is one of those almost black colors, very hard to tell that it isn't unless you are under the right kind of lights. This was my least favorite color of the bunch.

GRAY & BLACK HEARTS COLLECTION

My Carolyn NY Gray & Black Hearts Collection arrived today. YES!!! I love getting packages of nail polish. Instead of a dozen roses for Valentines Day, send me a dozen nail polishes! They won't wilt, I don't have to water them, and I can keep them forever and they are probably cheaper too! Got that BABY????
You might remember a few days ago I told you about the Valentine's Day special Carolyn NY is having, if you don't remember CLICK HERE for a refresher. I ordered the darker collection. I had included in the notes section of my order that I didn't receive my top coat from my last order, guess what?! The sent me two this order, thanks Carolyn! I am really excited about trying this cuticle oil out. I'm really curious to see how I like it. I am also surprised at how big the cuticle oil is, this stuff is gonna last for like ever.
