Easter flowers: Diamond Cosmetics Bahama Mama

Bleeding heart flower

Hello ladies,

For those who celebrated Easter today, I hope you had a pleasant holiday. I couldn't resist creating a manicure to match the local blooms of the season.

I began with one of the new Summer shades from Diamond Cosmetics: Bahama Mama. With Konad green special polish, I stamped the leaves from image plate H10. Every other nail, the positioning of the greenery was switched and adjusted to the left or right. I added dried flowers in orange, yellow, green, blue and purple along with two sizes of coordinating rhinestones. So cheerful!

Bahama Mama is a vibrant pink creme. I would classify this shade as a bright, but there may be a bit of neon pigment in the mix. I applied three coats, more for evenness than opacity. For $2.50 a bottle, you can't go wrong with this polish!

For those of you wondering why I did not feature the three Spring polishes, it is because they never arrived. I did make requests for the shades when I put the promo photos up and again afterwards. I apologize for not being able to honor requests to see these colors. If the Spring Collection does arrive, I will certainly give it a nice showing.

I hope these bright flowers brought a little Springtime to your part of the map. Enjoy!

Bahama Mama was sent to me for review. This polish will soon be available for US residents to purchase at diamondcosmetics.com. For international shipping, keep an eye on boozyshop.nl for availability.

Flaming hearts: Nubar Pink Lily

Hello ladies,

The flaming heart is a heraldic symbol meaning ardent affection. Traditionally found on coats of arms, I decided to let it emblazon my nails.

I chose red Konad special polish to stamp the heart motif from design plate H10. Pink rhinestone hearts embellish the stamping. I used a Nubar nail art pen in Rubies to highlight the flames. A funky french was painted with two coats of the flakie polish, Nubar 2010, and one layer of the silver shimmer, Pixie Dust.

Pink Lily is a soft pastel blended with a pearl shimmer. Three coats will bring opacity. The color is a whitened, mod style pink. I received lots of compliments on this pale pink when walking about town.

I hope you enjoyed my heraldic manicure. It would make a pretty Valentine this Spring or another way to showcase your coat of arms.

Part of the Nubar Spring Garden Collection, Pink Lily was sent to me for review. Pixie Dust and 2010, also provided for review, are available for purchase at bynubar.com.

Corn snake: Nubar Yellow Primrose

Hello ladies,

I adore corn snakes. I love their vibrant orange and gold coloring. Before exploring the woods and meadows, I visit the resident corn snake at the Rancocas Nature Center. I look forward to the days of warmth and sun ahead when I can greet my bright companion.

From plate H10, I stamped the snakes using Konad pastel orange special polish. I highlighted the pattern of scales using the fine brush in the Nubar 14K nail art pen from the Bejeweled Collection. I positioned the snakes at alternate angles on each hand. From a distance, it looks like a series of curving lines.

I love the expression of the snake in this design!

Pale with fine white shimmer, Yellow Primrose reminds me of a mod 1960s pastel. These almost white polishes with tints of color can be quite striking. I wish the sun were in attendance today, so I could show how skin flattering this shade is.

The application was workable, considering a yellow based pastel combines two potential formula issues in one polish. I managed to achieve opacity in three coats on long nails without first applying a whitening base. Nubar did a good job formulating Yellow Primrose.

I hope you were charmed by my corn snake manicure. I had such a great time putting this look together.

Yellow Primrose was sent to me for review. This polish is part of the Spring Garden Collection, soon to be released at bynubar.com.

Pinwheels: Nubar Marabout

Hello ladies,

On a windy day, I decided to create pinwheels for my nails. I added blue and copper embellishments to bring a sense of movement and playfulness to a classic taupe.

From design plate H10, I stamped the diamond pattern in Konad pastel blue special polish. I placed a copper gem in the center of each nail. Blue mirror diamonds were added in formation, alternating two and four per nail. These diamonds are tricky to place. They are composed of a light foil material that shifts easily. I advise adding small drops of topcoat to dry nails and adhering the diamonds. Follow with two coats of topcoat to thoroughly seal them.

I painted three coats of color for opacity, but I think two coats would suit more active length nails. The formula is superb, offering an effortless application.

I hope you enjoyed my pinwheels. A bit of whimsy for a winter day.

Marabout was sent to me for review. This shade is part of the Finest Silks Collection, available at bynubar.com.

Blue roses, sunlit sky: H&M Bella's Choice

Hello ladies,

After experiencing the grey and icy weather of the past two days, I may have enticed the sun with my vibrant blue manicure. I walked to the park shortly before dusk and the clouds opened to form a circle around the sun. After I took my manicure photos, the grey consumed the light once more.

I stamped the rose duo from plate H10 with Konad blue special polish. I highlighted the leaves and stems with blue glitter, using a Migi nail art pen. I prettied up the blooms with iridescent circles from Bundle Monster and tiny blue pearls. With Nfu Oh #54, I painted a funky french at the tips.

H&M Bella's Choice is a bright blue creme. I really think there is some neon pigment in the formula. The color looks like an amped up version of For Audrey. The consistency of the polish is thin and fast drying. I used three coats for opacity. This color is super pretty. It was just what I needed as an antidote to the weekly onset of ice and snow.

Bella's Choice was a sweet gift from Nathalie at jellynat. Nfu Oh #54 was a present from Laura at Sawan. Such generous ladies in the blogging community!

Many thanks! I hope you enjoyed what I created with these much appreciated presents.
