Neutrogena Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel

Neutrogena Rainbath Shower and Bath Gel is a scented body cleanser that offers drug store affordability with a spa style fragrance. Leaving my skin cleansed and refreshed, its rich lather and spicy scent makes showering even more enjoyable.

I have been using Rainbath as a shower gel for the past few weeks. When rubbed into a washcloth, it creates a light foam that reminds me of taking a bubble bath. I love the scent of this gel. It has a spicy fragrance with a hint of fruit in the background. The scent is multi-layered, more typical of a spa fragrance product than lines found at the drugstore.

The scent of Rainbath is gender neutral. When my boyfriend ran out of his usual men's deodorant soap, I convinced him to try Rainbath. He was surprised at the thorough cleansing this shower gel offered and admitted it matched his usual soap in effectiveness. He practices martial arts four times a week and is very particular about what type of cleanser he uses. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes are the newest essential in my skin care routine. I have been using the Night Calming variety to cleanse and relax before bedtime.

Auspicious to have on hand for late evenings, Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes are hard working. The cloths easily wipe away waterproof mascara, highly pigmented eye shadows and liquid or glitter eyeliner. When I am wearing a full color eye look, I will use a separate towelette to take off the makeup from my eye area and another for my face. If I have applied minimal makeup, I only require one cloth to cleanse my entire face and neck.

It is impressive how well Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes dissolve facial sunscreen and residue from moisturizers and primer. With no need to rinse after use, my face feels thoroughly clean from the towelettes alone. They are a time saving alternative to washing.

Today I want to share information about one of my favorite products for hands and nails: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. This moisturizer is a staple in my beauty regimen. Its concentrated formula can be utilized to treat dry skin on the lips, hands, elbows and feet.

I initially experienced Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream as a teenager. It was one of the first products for hand and nail care that joined my early assortment of beauty products. This hand cream has been a companion in helping me care for my dry skin over the years.

The product is a clear gel with a medium consistency. It absorbs readily, leaving a light shielding layer to protect skin from the elements. Neutrogena Hand Cream is concentrated. I apply one to two pea sized dots for both hands. While the packaging states that a 2 ounce tube can last over 200 applications, I tend to be more generous with my usage. I still find the intensive formula to be an economical choice.

In the evening, I massage this cream into the skin on my hands, with attention to my nails and cuticles. The glycerin rich formula does a notable job at preventing hang nails and cuticle damage caused from dryness. It also keeps the nail beds hydrated and guards against peeling and splitting. One of the components of maintaining nail length is using a quality hand cream. Proper moisturizing keeps nails flexible and inhibits breakage.

My tube of Neutrogena Hand Cream resides on my night stand. I love the versatility of the formula. If I forget to apply lip balm before bed, the smallest dab can be used to soften my lips. It is also an effective moisturizer for elbows and feet.

I put together a grouping of my favorite products from 2010. These aren't necessarily new releases, but rather products that I discovered over the past year that became an integral part of my beauty routine.

Hard Candy: So Baked Bronzer in Tiki

This is the first bronzer that has truly complimented my fair skin. I use it as a blush and as a highlight all throughout the year.

This mini primer comes as a sample with each In the Shadows eye shadow collection. It's a phenomenal primer that I wish were sold full size. The mini tube is nice to toss in a travel cosmetic bag. Only a small amount of primer is required to keep eye makeup in place throughout the day.

Bella Sugar Cosmetics: eye shadows

This small, family run company produces the smoothest, most pigmented pressed shadows I have tried. My 18 shadow palette shows evidence of serious use. The pan is visible on quite a few shades. I have received so many compliments when wearing these shadows. Their greens and pinks are particularly noteworthy.

Make Up For Ever: Lift Concealer

I use this concealer under my eyes every day. It provides natural, crease resistant coverage.

B'Liv by Cellnique: Off With Those Heads Blackheads Sebum Gel

With twice daily application, Off With Those Heads has dramatically reduced the blackheads on my nose. Even if you have small pores that aren't yielding to a comedone extractor, this product will help clear them. At present, my blackheads are showing about 80% improvement with continued results each week.

Neutrogena: Ageless Restoratives Anti-Oxidant Daily Moisturizer SPF 20

I apply sunscreen every day no matter what the weather. Neutrogena makes many effective sunscreens, but Anti-Oxidant Daily Moisturizer is among my favorites for its weightless texture and compatibility with makeup application.

Neutrogena: Intensive Moisture Wrap

This Norwegian formula body treatment is reminiscent of Neutrogena's popular hand cream. With consistent use after showering, I haven't once experienced a dry patch this winter. Intensive Moisture Wrap is my new cold weather staple.

Bathory Diabolique: Scrub

I could praise these foot scrubs 'til the end of time. Beautifully perfumed and rich with skin healing shae butter, each scrub offers its own artisan beauty. Bathory Diabolique scrubs have helped keep my feet soft despite all the city walking I do.

Made from Earth: Rooibos Tea Face Scrub

This face scrub employs tiny jojoba spheres for exfoliation. I appreciate the wholesome, organic ingredients as well as the soft feel of my skin after each use. Perfect!

Pure Source: Protective Day Cream

This moisturizer is so healing for dry, sensitive skin. With continued use, my cheeks are smooth to the touch even on the coldest days. Protective Day Cream provides an effective barrier against environmental agents.

2010 could also be called The Year I Discovered Reviva Labs. My medicine cabinet looks like a slightly pillaged shrine. I have an assortment of partially full bottles and jars, all in active rotation. If I were relegated to using products from only one skin care company, it would be Reviva Labs. Below are a few of my absolute favorites of all that I have tried.

Reviva Labs: DMAE Firming Fluid

I am currently half way through my second bottle. DMAE will help firm skin along the jaw line and cheek bones. For anyone who has decided to pursue healthy weight loss this New Year, DMAE can assist with maintaining skin elasticity.

Reviva Labs: Skin Energizing Gel

I apply this gel under my nighttime moisturizer to increase its effectiveness. Because of Skin Energizing Gel, I no longer have to use heavy night creams to keep my skin hydrated.

Reviva Labs: Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel

Light Skin Peel is a great multi-purpose facial mask. It helps clear pores, refine skin texture, maintain natural oil balance and exfoliate dry skin. I can see how it would benefit just about every skin type. I use this mask every week. I wish I could give a sample to everyone I know.

I have been enjoying Deep Moisture Body Cream by Neutrogena. This delicately scented moisturizer protects skin from winter dryness, while comforting the senses with a warm vanilla fragrance. I appreciate the quick to absorb formula enriched with shea, cocoa and mango butters. This jar is proof that there are amazing products to be discovered at the drugstore.

Deep Moisture Body Cream has a light texture that is a melding of a body butter and a gel. The consistency reminds me of creme brulee. The scent is equally appealing. There is a soft vanilla fragrance that makes think of custard. It has a gourmand perfume that is tempting.

I depend on cocoa, shea, and mango butters to keep my skin hydrated in winter. Deep Moisture Body Cream incorporates these skin healing butters into an easily absorbing formula. I use it daily after showering. Once the cream touches my skin, it begins to sink in. I am left with soft skin minutes after application, without any noticeable residue.

Due to its Vitamin A and E content, shea butter has antioxidant properties, which protect the skin from the free radical damage that causes premature aging. It can also be effective as a wrinkle treatment through increasing cell renewal.

I have been having a great experience with a facial sunscreen from Neutrogena. Ageless Restoratives Anti-Oxidant Daily Moisturizer SPF 20 offers sun protection in conjunction with skin calming soy extract, vitamin E and feverfew. It's a new favorite in my skin care regimen.

There has been a subtle name and packaging change since the product arrived in early October. I am including an updated image from PR. The photo with the flower is my own.

Living in a major city, I appreciate the benefits of antioxidants in skin care. A daily moisturizer clinically proven to neutralize 99% of free radicals is a necessary protection against skin damage due to pollution in the environment.

Moisturizers containing soy extract tend to bring a glow to my complexion. It's no wonder as soy offers the antioxidant vitamins A, B, E and C. Another positive effect of soy is it's ability to help even skin tone and minimize blotchiness. When confronting the onset of cold weather with fair and sensitive skin, I truly value soy as an ingredient.

There is also Vitamin E for additional anti-oxidant protection and skin healing.

Feverfew, an herbal perhaps best known for its use with migraine patients, benefits the skin as well. Feverfew is reported to calm redness and irritation. It helps defend skin against free radicals that cause cellular damage.

Moisture Wrap Daily Repair Body Lotion from Neutrogena is a useful product for combatting winter dryness and protecting skin from the seasonal chill. This lotion offers lasting emollience in a light, easily absorbed formula.

I am continually impressed by the Norwegian Formula products. The five years of clinical testing and the 35 years of history that have gone into this line show beautiful results on my skin. Moisture Wrap Daily Repair Body Lotion has a light cream texture. It absorbs easily into the skin and offers concentrated moisture with a sheer application. This product is ideal for regular use. If you would like to try a richer formula, I recommend the Intensive Moisture Wrap Body Treatment.

With the weather cooling in Philadelphia, I have been extra attentive to nourishing my dry skin. Neutrogena Intensive Moisture Wrap Body Treatment has been essential to my skin care routine for the past few weeks. The glycerin based formula is a useful ally in keeping my skin smooth and hydrated.

I have been using Intensive Moisture Wrap daily after showering. The light weight formula exists somewhere between a cream and a gel in texture. I found it moisturizes as effectively as a heavy body butter.

Although I wear gloves for dishwashing and heavy scrubbing, I find this lotion to quickly replenish moisture after doing basic chores like laundry or dusting. I started using Tone Correcting Daily Moisturizer this past August. I began applying this product as part of my morning routine, every other day. The packaging notes: You may experience mild redness, a warm tingling sensation or flaking (skin exfoliation). These are normal, temporary indications that the formula is working.

I didn't detect any redness or flaking, but it did feel like my skin was humming for a few minutes after application. Even with sensitive skin, I wouldn't describe the feeling as painful. I was certainly aware of the Retinol SA at work for the first two weeks. The sensation experienced on the initial application will greatly lessen. My skin soon became accustomed to the formula and the tingling dissipated.

I really appreciate that I can easily wear Tone Correcting Daily Moisturizer under makeup. Before applying eye shadow, I smooth the moisturizer over my face and neck. In the time it takes to apply eye makeup, the formula has absorbed and I can add primer, concealer, and bronzer/blush.

Tone Correcting Daily Moisturizer improves the appearance of the skin. I have a couple of small age spots and minor freckling. The formula didn't erase these imperfections completely, but I did notice a subtle lightening.

Neutrogena's patented Helioplex formula sunscreen is one of my favorites available. I have been using different lines from Neutrogena for years to protect my face and neck from sun damage. Their broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen is proven to shield six layers of skin for a strong degree of protection.

Vitamin C is included in the formula to help diminish spots and even the complexion. Retinol SA also works to reduce age spots along with the appearance of wrinkles. The Retinol SA formula penetrates the skin better than Pro-Retinol or Retinyl Palmitate. For those ladies who rely on the exfoliating effects of Vitamin A, this product is a drug store treasure.

I can recommend Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 30 for sun protection and as an effective skin treatment. I am currently using my second bottle and I will be purchasing more in the future.

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite facial sunscreens: Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. Part of my beauty routine for several years, I am a devoted user of this product. I rely on Healthy Defense to protect my skin from UVA and UVB rays.

The box contains post-consumer recycled material.

Rose on a blue trellis. I had a really lovely conversation with the gardener of the plot where the rose bush is abloom. He welcomed me to take cuttings of his flowers for the rest of the growing season.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense has a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly into the skin. I find this moisturizer works effectively even on hot and humid days. The consistency feels sheer on my face and neck. I find the formula to be relatively sweat proof for standard daily activities. I would recommend reapplying after exercise or exertion.

This moisturizer works exceptionally well under makeup. I have no problems with my concealer or bronzer shifting after application. My skin feels soft, but never oily. Healthy Defense leaves no perceivable residue.

Having fair and sensitive skin causes me to be very critical of SPF efficacy. I find that brands with similar active ingredients may not result in the necessary sun protection if their inactive ingredients don't assist in absorption. Neutrogena's patented helioplex broad spectrum UVA-UVB provides me with worry free protection against sun damage.

It's essential to wear a sunscreen that offers both UVA and UVB sun protection. Affecting the surface skin, UVB rays are the primary cause of sunburn. UVA damage goes deeper, penetrating skin layers to break down collagen and elastin found in healthy skin. This damage is what results in the signs of aging: lines and wrinkles, visible loss of elasticity resulting in skin sagging and age spots or discoloration.

The formula contains Vitamins B5, C, and E. These are listed as Panthotenic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and Tocopherol respectively. I am always pleased when antioxidants are present in skin care. Protection against the formation of free radicals is necessary for skin health and longevity.

I will continue to review sunscreens for face and body as a regular feature at painted Lady fingers. An advocate for daily use of facial sunscreens, I have worn a moisturizer with SPF every day since I was 12 years old.
