Reviva Labs: Almond Astringent

A fancy peony

Hello ladies,

With the arrival of warm weather, I have found Almond Astringent from Reviva Labs to be the perfect skin freshener and cleanser. The tempting fragrance of this product, in union with the skin balancing results, makes Almond Astringent a new favorite in my skin care routine.

After washing my face, I apply Almond Astringent using two cotton rounds. I moisten one piece of cotton for my t-zone area (forehead, nose, and chin) and another for my cheeks and neck. I smooth the astringent soaked cotton over my face in an upwards motion.

The scent of Almond Astringent is delectable. It reminds me of a liqueur soaked pastry. The aroma is gourmand, but not sweetened. The essential oil fragrance is gender neutral and would be appreciated by any almond lover.

Although Almond Astringent is recommended for sensitive and oily skin, I believe it would be beneficial for all skin types. The alcohol free formula suits my dry skin perfectly. This astringent provides a deeper cleansing effect than the moisture enhancing toners I have tried from Reviva Labs.

Almond Astringent is a useful antidote to warm, humid days. I appreciate being able to quickly whisk away sunscreen residue and perspiration after returning from a walk. This product would be a helpful addition to a gym bag or locker. The four fluid ounce (118ml), spill proof bottle makes it convenient to carry with you. I have tossed the bottle in my purse quite a few times.

Applying a toner or mild astringent twice daily has contributed to maintaining the natural oil balance across my entire face. Almond Astringent has helped me avoid redness and irritation on my cheeks on either side of my nose. While I don't have acne prone skin, warm weather can cause sensitivity. This astringent both cleanses and calms my skin.

Ingredients: Water, Sorbitol, Polysorbate 20, Almond Oil, Essential Oil Fragrance, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid.

Almond oil contains natural fatty acids that help dissolve acne producing deposits from pores. Almond oil also has moisturizing properties that can bring a glow to the complexion. It is one of the most auspicious oils in helping to balance and clear skin irritation.

If you are looking for an astringent the entire household can use and enjoy, I would recommend Almond Astringent. If you decide to keep the entire bottle for yourself, I won't tell.

Almond Astringent was sent to me for review. This product is no longer available at revivalabs.com. US residents can order Almond Astringent by contacting the Consumer Division Director at 1-800-257-7774, extension 19. I found a quick Google search yields many on-line purchase options.

Reviva Labs: Organic Skin Tonic

Hello ladies,

A few weeks ago, I added Reviva Labs Organic Skin Tonic to my cleansing routine. The blend of certified organic herbs, floral water and essential oils freshens and tones my skin. I appreciate how a relaxing bouquet of lavender, angelica, chamomile and hibiscus soothe my skin while appealing to my olfactory senses. This product is a delight to use.
I begin my skin care regimen by washing my face with Organic Cleansing Milk. Next, I moisten a cotton round with Organic Skin Tonic and apply it to my face and neck in an upward, swiping motion. The toner helps remove any trace residue left from cleansers.

While my complexion tends to be clear, I have noticed a lessening of irritation and minor break outs after incorporating Organic Skin Tonic to my routine. This product can help balance the skin's natural acids to promote clarity. For the nail polish lovers among us, I will liken using toner before moisturizing as applying base coat before polishing. It is an unseen practice that can have many subtle benefits.

The ingredients include: Steam distilled water, certified organic floral water of lavender and red raspberry, certified organic herbs of angelica, chamomile, ginger, hibiscus, sage, thyme, certified organic aloe vera, hawaiian seaweed, polysorbate 20, geranium essential oil, vegetable glycerine, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, allantoin, lavender essential oil, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and citric acid.

Red raspberry is a natural astringent. This component has a high mineral content to nourish skin and anti-oxidant properties to promote skin health.

An anti-inflammatory, chamomile can help alleviate skin irritation. This soothing ingredient works to heal sensitive skin and has been employed to brighten the complexion.

Hyaluronic acid is a useful ingredient to help prepare skin before applying creams or lotions. HA boosts the ability of skin tissue to access and retain moisture.

If you are looking for a skin softening toner with natural components and a beautiful fragrance, I would certainly recommend Organic Skin Tonic. It's a product I look forward to using every day.

I am curious. How many of you ladies use toners as part of your skin care regimen? It's a practice I have revisited recently and am definitely going to maintain. I am pleased with the results.

Organic Skin Tonic was sent to me for review. This product can be purchased at revivalabs.com. A 4 ounce (118 ml) spray bottle retails for $9.50. Please note: The site lists hydrogen peroxide as an ingredient. This is not present in the current formula.

Reviva Labs: Rosewater Facial Spray

Hello ladies,

I adore the perfume of roses. For the past few weeks, I have been enjoying the scent and experience of Reviva Labs Rosewater Facial Spray. This product is a refreshing skin toner that is versatile in application.

The directions recommend holding the bottle 8 inches from the face and misting the skin. I prefer saturating two cotton rounds and gently wiping my face and neck in an upward motion. I use the Rosewater Facial Spray directly after cleansing and before applying moisturizer. This technique will help skin creams better hydrate the skin.

The scent level is perfect. The rose fragrance softly perfumes my skin for a few minutes, then dissipates. I love that it's strong enough to be pleasing when applied, but doesn't linger in a distracting way.

Rosewater Facial Spray can be used by women who like to set their foundation and powder with a fine misting of water or toner.

With five nieces, I can see how this product would be useful in a school locker to freshen the skin throughout the day. Many astringents marketed towards teens are harsh and can cause imbalances that actually contribute to excess oil production. I am a believer in maintaining a gentle and consistent routine to keep skin clear.

Rosewater Facial Spray would also benefit women who work out regularly. The product could easily be transferred into a travel size container and tossed into a gym bag for convenience.

The ingredients include: Distilled rosewater, glycerin, aloe juice, polysorbate 20, hyaluronic acid, tocopheryl acetate, vegetable oil, vitamin A (retinyl palmitate), Vitamin D (ergocalciferol), extracts of fennel, hops, balm mint, mistletoe, maticaria, yarrow, mallow, ivy, cucumber, sambucus, and arnica, trace mineral concentrate, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, and citric acid.

I find myself using Rosewater Facial Spray as a skin refresher after being out for the day. It provides cleansing and skin softening properties. Gentle moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid hydrate the skin. In addition to the appealing scent, rosewater has been used historically as a skin beautifier and treatment for wrinkles. I can attest that my skin feels softer after using it. Maintaining the skin's hydration levels will minimize the appearance of wrinkles.

Reviva Labs also makes a Lindenflower toner for normal to oily skin. From my experience with the Rosewater Facial Spray, I would definitely recommend trying if it better suits your skin type.

Rosewater Facial Spray was sent to me for review. This toner can be purchased at revivalabs.com. The 8 ounce bottle retails for $9.00.
