Pink Wednesday: Two OPI's And A Little Crack

Good Morning,

Today is pink Wednesday. I was looking through my stash and realized I don't have very many pinks.  Just last week or so I picked up two pinks from OPI Nice Stems Collection.  Be A Dahlia Won't You and I Lilly Love You.  In my opinion I thought these were the winners in the collection.

Be A Dehlia Won't You is a shimmering foil fuchsia Pink.  It really shines on the nail.  I Lily Love You is truly amazing.  It has multi flakies and glitter in a tinted clear pink base.  It is excellent for a gradient mani and so easy to do as you see on my ring finger.  I need to do a full gradient mani with this.  I love it so much I bought a backup bottle. Lol! *-*

On my dominant hand I wanted to see what Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat: Fuchsia Shock would look like.  I am so pleased with it.  It's very subtle which would be perfect for those that aren't into the crackle phase.  Will have to do a full many with the crackle as well.

I hope you didn't mind all the pictures.  What pink are you wearing today?

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

Gemini: BB Couture Nike

Hello ladies,

With the sun in Gemini, I was thinking about twin symbols. I decided to create a mirror image look with a motif of reflective elements.

Using Konad pastel blue special polish, I stamped the French floral design from Bundle Monster plate BM 212. I alternated the jewel placement every other nail with a shifting of fuschia and blue. I painted a thin line French with an Art Club striper in turquoise glitter. The finished manicure reminds me of Art Nouveau.

A gorgeous purple foil, Nike has winning shimmer. Two coats will bring opacity, but three displays a true richness of color. Nike is a must have for those who love purple!

I hope you enjoyed my bejeweled, mirror image floral.

Nike was sent to me for review. This shade is part of the A Touch of Greece Collection/Ladies, available for purchase at overallbeauty.com.

$5.10 Manicure: Diamond Cosmetics Classic Pink

For the curious, I decorated my right hand as always.

My right hand holding a selenite egg.

A peony and an iris

Hello ladies,

After reading Nails Magazine's report of the $51,000 manicure created with 10 carats of faceted diamonds, I considered what I would pay for a luxurious manicure. I decided to move the decimal point over to a more agreeable number and let the spirit of whimsy possess me for a bit.

I began with a base of Diamond Cosmetics Classic Pink and painted a funky french using Moonsand. The dark silver foil polish seemed the perfect setting to place jewels. I used a mix of clear and rainbow gems from various rhinestone wheels from Bundle Monster, Cina and Nubar. I chose clear flatbacks from Art Club that are smooth, without facets. I placed silver beads at random between the jewels.

If I had been trying to duplicate the $51,000 manicure exactly, I would have chosen small crystals to match the size of the diamonds. I wanted my tips to be as luxuriously brilliant as a jeweled egg. This look contains over 250 gems and beads. I am sure the ladies with the $51,000 manicure longed for bigger diamonds on their nails. Perhaps that was all they could afford.

Diamond Cosmetics Classic Pink was the perfect choice for the $5.10 manicure. At $2.50 a bottle, it is within the budget. At three coats, this shade is semi-opaque. The sweet pink color and the jelly formula make Classic Pink a notable choice for French manicures. Despite being sheer, I didn't find the formula streaky even on my long nails. There is just enough opacity with the formula to hide staining and give the nails a fresh look. A good basic, I will be revisiting this shade for future nail art.

I hope you enjoyed my luxury on a budget manicure.

Celeb City with Pro 10

Good Morning,

I have an exciting combo to show you!  SH Xtreme Wear Celeb City is a gorgeous metallic silver foil that glistens with shimmer. I used 2 coats.  I'm sure it would sparkled even more if taken out in the sun.  I'm sorry my pictures are dark I'm using a different camera haven't figured out the setting/lighting yet.

                         Celeb City

Then I applied one coat of 10 Professional Nail Lacquer 415 Pinky Promise (Can still be purchased at CVS) it gave it a whole new look a light grey with sparkles of gold.  Where did the gold come from?? Pinky Promise is a sheer pink.   I can't wait to see what it looks like out in the sun. Lots of pictures I hope you don't mind.

You really can see the gold in this picture

It goes to show you don't always have to layer with shimmers or glitters to achieve a different look.  Experimenting with colors is fun.  Could this be a new meaning for frankening without mixing in a bottle?

So what do you think?  Would you give this look a try?

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

Tattoos and Jewels: Diamond Cosmetics Moonsand

Hello ladies,

Philadelphia has been experiencing winter temperatures amidst the onset of Spring. I think the purple pansies and daffodils are as confused as residents downtown. My manicure today was also a union of opposites. I paired a tribal tattoo design with jewels.

Using black Konad special polish, I stamped the tattoo pattern from image plate T02. I alternated the stamping position every other nail. Large gems were placed on my thumb, middle and pinky nails. On my pointer and ring fingers, I used two rainbow rhinestones to border the image.

I am really loving the T series from chez-delaney. There are some adventurous designs that offer clean and easy transfers.

A charcoal grey foil, Moonsand can appear silvery in bright light. This is another beautiful foil polish from Diamond Cosmetics. There is also rainbow micro shimmer stirred in. I detect tiny pink and green sparkles. Two coats brought perfect opacity. Stunning!

I hope you enjoyed my elegant take on tribal tattoos.

Moonsand was sent to me for review. US residents can purchase this shade from diamondcosmetics.com. Visit boozyshop.nl for international shipping.

Image plate T02 was provided for my consideration. To shop the full line of nail art stamping plates and materials, go to chez-delaney.com.

Irish Rose: Color Club Magic Elf

Hello ladies,

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I decided to celebrate with a festive green manicure. What could be more lovely than an Irish rose?

I stamped the ornate roses from Born Pretty plate M07. The swirls around the blooms remind me of lacework. In the center of each rose, I placed a rainbow crystal. I embellished the top and bottom of the pattern with miniature pearls. A green cameo forms the centerpiece of the manicure. The stamping design softly edges the cameo, but the camera couldn't entirely capture the effect. I surrounded the cameo with medium size pearls and rainbow gems.

Magic Elf is a sheer lacquer. I am showing four coats, but three would suffice on shorter nail lengths. This polish is a green foil packed with gold glitter pieces. It is an incredibly lustrous shade that appears bright and shimmering indoors and out.

I hope you enjoyed my tribute to Irish beauty.

Part of the Enchanted Holiday Mini Set, Magic Elf was sent to me for review. This polish and nail art kit can be purchased from victoriasnailsupply.com.

The nail art pearls and image plate M07 were provided for my consideration. Visit bornprettystore.com to view the full line of nail art products.

Moon in Scorpio: Catrice Sophisticated Chic

Hello ladies,

I was recently discussing astrology at the cafe. I was lucky to have my natal chart drawn up years ago by a talented astrologer. For the curious, my Moon is in Scorpio, forming a point of a grand trine in water. One's Moon sign delves into the inner workings. The positioning of Scorpio here certainly explains my dreaminess and captivation with ephemera.

From image plate T02, I stamped the scorpion tattoo in Konad black special polish. The engravings on the T series are particularly crisp. It's amazing how the tiny lines on a long design transfer so cleanly. I highly recommend them. I used a golden Moon to embellish the curve of the tail and echo the astrological significance.

Sophisticated Chic is a delicate, rose gold foil. This shade has a vintage feel. I am showing three coats, but I think two would suffice for those with active length nails. The name of the line is 60 Seconds Nail Couture. While I wouldn't agree with the time description, I do feel Sophisticated Chic is a fashionable hue. I love the professional style application of this polish and the brush is superb.

This bottle of Catrice Sophisticated Chic was a gift from Theresia of amused Polish. She has such exquisite taste in lacquer. Many thanks!

I hope you enjoyed the glimpse at my astrological portrait through nail art.

Image plate T02 was provided for my consideration. To shop the full line of nail art stamping plates, visit chez-delaney.com. MAC Venomus Villain Bad Fairy...Ooh La La!!

By rmcandlelight

Good Morning,  It's hump day Wednesday!!  Yay!!  I am so excited to show you this awesome polish.  I am so glad I own it.  I wished I would have gotten a back up on this one.   I heard Bad Fairy takes about 3-4 coats to cover well.  So, I used a base (OPI Vodka & Cavier).  Only used one coat and applied 2 coats of Bad Fairy. The formula is fantastic.  It's so shiny, shimmery!  I love it because it's a duochrome/foil raspberry/bronze.  Her she is...

Did you pick this one up?  Tell me you did because if you didn't you surely missed a good one.

Just look at that duochrome.  I love it!!

I don't think there are any dupes out there for this one.  MAC you broke the mold when you made Bad Fairy.  I am very well pleased.

Today is the last day for Win It Wednesday Giveaway!!!  It closes at 11:59 or I guess I should say Midnight tonight EST  Click Here to enter. Thanks for entering ;)

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠)
