Good Morning,

Dr's Remedy Hot Hot Hot Summer 2011 Collection : Five fabulous, terrifically-on-trend shades of Enriched Nail Polish.

                            Lovely Lavender
A pale purple with matt depth and charm.  It's a fabulous dusty purple creme that I love so much! It's my favorite in this collection.  Used 2 coats.

Glee Gold
A shimmer infused coin of perfection.  There are various colors of shimmer shown from the bottle silver, gold and green but not so visible on the nail.  Used 3 coats

Tranquil Tangerine
A bold, but wonderfully wearable, slice of juicy delight.  Put on your sunglasses I don't want to blind you! This is a bright beautiful golden shimmery orange.  Used 2 coats

Bold Baby Blue
An aqua meets turquoise take on every boy's favorite color.  Silvery blue tone which looks almost like a foil on the nail.  Used 2 coats

Nurture Nude Pink
A delicate, damsel in distress barely there beautiful.  This is a great polish to wear going on a job interview or if your not in the mood for any color.  From the bottle it has a flash of pink shimmer but not shown on the nail.  Used 2 coats

The formula on these are good and easy to apply. I wish there was a green in this collection.

Dots and Damsels: Color Club Tattered in Gold and Ready to Royal

Hello ladies,

I love the idea of creating nail decorations that would be suited to a grand fete. I could imagine wearing this look while holding a lace fan.

Starting with a base of Ready to Royal, I painted a cross formation with an Art Club gold glitter striper. I filled in the squares in an alternating pattern with gold fractured polish. I chose the deep pink foil striper in Malmsy to define the cross and layered gold glitter over top.

In the dark purple squares, I added a variety of pink and fuschia pearls and gems along with gold jewels. In the center of the cross, I placed lavender roses.

This is my first time working with 3-D roses. As they have a springy quality, nail glue is definitely required for adhesion. While I am still experimenting with technique, I believe brush-on nail glue plus two coats of a sealer or thicker style topcoat should encourage these pretty flowers to remain as positioned. Topcoat alone is insufficient to hold them.

Ready to Royal is a dark purple that reminds me of a black mirror. It has a glassy finish combined with a depth of color that is quite mesmerizing. I have worn this shade a few times without nail art and I also love it as a backdrop for design. Two coats bring even color and perfect opacity.

One of my favorites from the Fractured Collection, Tattered in Gold reminds me of jewelry.

I hope you enjoyed my dots and damsels manicure!

Tattered in Gold and Ready to Royal were sent to me for review. These shades can be purchased at victoriasnailsupply.com.

A clean Palette

Good Morning,

I'm in a hurry! So what do I do?  I grabbed Essie Marshmallow and China Glaze White Cap from the Anchors Away Collection.  Marshmallow is not a stark white it's a soft white jelly.  The first 2 coats were streaky but no problem. I then added a 3rd coat which covered up the balled spots well.  (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of Marshmallow alone).  I used one coat of White cap.

Um, picture is blurry

These pictures doesn't give this look justice. White Cap is so sparkly it has gold, and subtle green shimmer in it.

What color do you put on when you're in a hurry?

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

Dragon's Pearl: Diamond Cosmetics 18K Gold

Hello ladies,

I wanted to create a tattoo style manicure. I imagined a dragon returning to his cave with a new pearl. Dragons, much like the keeper of this blog, adore treasure. In the dragon's world, even the Moon has been formed from a jewel. A bit of whimsy for you...when I met my friend Drew for dinner, I noticed he was wearing a Chinese dragon tee shirt that coordinated with my manicure. Magic is afoot.

From image plate D25, I stamped the dragons in black Konad special polish. I accented the dragon's tail with miniature pearls from Born Pretty Store. I placed a ruby Moon in the sky. The tips were defined with an Art Club striper in Black Hologram. Preferring the thin line French to remain matte, I decided not to add a second layer of topcoat.

Diamond Cosmetics 18K Gold is a rich metallic. This warm toned gold is perfect for summer leading into fall. The formula is easily opaque in two thin coats. A careful application is required to avoid brushstrokes, but these lessen in appearance as the polish dries. The color glows on the nails like jewelry.

I hope you enjoyed this treasure of a polish. Have you had any dragon sightings lately?

The polish was sent to me for review. US residents can purchase 18K Gold at diamondcosmetics.com. For international shipping, visit boozyshop.nl

I purchased image plate D25 from chez-delaney.com. The D series is a site exclusive.

SH OverCoat Antique Gold

Good Morning,

It's all about the crackle.  SH Overcoat.  Pretty cleaver of Sally coming up with the name.  I like the square bottle too with the crackle lid.  The prices of these are pretty steep don't you think?  $7.99 Gesh!  Some Walgreen's have them for $6.99 and  Walmart has them priced at $6.24.  The other problem I have with these is the brush...why is the brush sooo tiny?!  It would have been nice if these had the same brushes as the Sally Hansen complete salon manicure ones.

I like Antique Gold's formula.  The gold is so sparkly.  I haven't tried the others yet.

                                  Antique Gold
I don't think pictures show the true actual prettiness of crackles.  After I applied a topcoat it glistens and shines can't see it in the pictures though.

China Glaze Blue Iguana with SH Antique Gold Crackle

Did you grab any of the Overcoats?  Which ones?  Which ones do you like?

Moon in Scorpio: Catrice Sophisticated Chic

Hello ladies,

I was recently discussing astrology at the cafe. I was lucky to have my natal chart drawn up years ago by a talented astrologer. For the curious, my Moon is in Scorpio, forming a point of a grand trine in water. One's Moon sign delves into the inner workings. The positioning of Scorpio here certainly explains my dreaminess and captivation with ephemera.

From image plate T02, I stamped the scorpion tattoo in Konad black special polish. The engravings on the T series are particularly crisp. It's amazing how the tiny lines on a long design transfer so cleanly. I highly recommend them. I used a golden Moon to embellish the curve of the tail and echo the astrological significance.

Sophisticated Chic is a delicate, rose gold foil. This shade has a vintage feel. I am showing three coats, but I think two would suffice for those with active length nails. The name of the line is 60 Seconds Nail Couture. While I wouldn't agree with the time description, I do feel Sophisticated Chic is a fashionable hue. I love the professional style application of this polish and the brush is superb.

This bottle of Catrice Sophisticated Chic was a gift from Theresia of amused Polish. She has such exquisite taste in lacquer. Many thanks!

I hope you enjoyed the glimpse at my astrological portrait through nail art.

Image plate T02 was provided for my consideration. To shop the full line of nail art stamping plates, visit chez-delaney.com. Chromnad on Shatter

I stopped in CVS to pick up a few items and saw  the Sally Hansen Chrome Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pens.  Mind you these aren't cheap they were $9.49 (shaking my head) .  To my surprise I scan one the price popped up $2.37 yep there on sale!  Yay!  I saw another display that had a silver one, but unfortunately that display was not on sale.  Oh well, I'll keep checking for that one to go on sale.  These are awesome for konading.  I love them. (hugs pens)

I enjoyed my Go Green Friday's mani (here) so much I didn't want to take it off.  So to prolong it I used my konad plate M65 and the Gold Chrome pen .

My ring finger was the first one I did...not quite centered :/

I can't wait to try other konad designs over BS
