Moon, Bronze and Flowers

Good Morning,

After stopping at the post office to drop off a package I wasn't quite ready to go home so I stopped into a Walgreen's that I haven't been to for awhile.  I found SH Xtreme Wear Pumpkin Spice.  I then saw a new display of SH Insta-Dri's and picked up the last Bronze Ablaze. It's a bronze shimmer with a hint of green.   In the store it sorta looked like Chanel's Peridot but, as you can see on the nail it's not a dupe.

I for one love all colors but sometimes they might not be the right color for my skintone.  So,  what did I do...added other colors that compliment my skintone.

Next time you see a color or want it go ahead and pick it up and play with it.

The dots are a lovely teal creme by Ruby Kisses (no name on bottle)

I used konad stamp plate M82 with white special polish

The moon is a nude color by OPI Tickle My Francey it's my go to color. To get the moon I used reinforcements

Do you buy colors that doesn't compliment your skintone?

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

A clean Palette

Good Morning,

I'm in a hurry! So what do I do?  I grabbed Essie Marshmallow and China Glaze White Cap from the Anchors Away Collection.  Marshmallow is not a stark white it's a soft white jelly.  The first 2 coats were streaky but no problem. I then added a 3rd coat which covered up the balled spots well.  (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of Marshmallow alone).  I used one coat of White cap.

Um, picture is blurry

These pictures doesn't give this look justice. White Cap is so sparkly it has gold, and subtle green shimmer in it.

What color do you put on when you're in a hurry?

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

Revlon Just Tinted...Mystical

Good Morning on this Happy Friday!! *_*

I'm off from work today and will be in front of my TV watching the Casey Anthony Trial.  Whose watching besides me? Lol!  I know I'm not the only one.

Here is the last Revlon Just Tinted...Mystical.  It's a dusty mauve jelly or like a juicy raspberry color.  3 coats used with Seche Vite Topcoat.

The bottle color is accurate

I did an accent nail design using LA Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquers in Black and White

There you have it.  I hope you enjoy your long weekend.

Shabby Chic: Color Club Clean Break and Pretty in Platinum

Hello ladies,

I decided to bring the Shabby Chic style to my nails. Today's manicure features roses and cameos on a silky grey background. I was imagining a tray of earrings and brooches sitting atop an old, whitewashed dresser. Jewels and pearls imbue a feeling of elegance to timeworn heirlooms.

I began by painting Color Club Pretty in Platinum as a base. With a Kolinsky Sable Brush size 00 from the art supply store, I mapped a fine, arching line with white polish. I then filled in the tips with Clean Break fractured polish. If you decide to use a crackle formula to create a funky french, I highly recommend having a guideline in place. Clean Break is on the thick side and it would be tricky to achieve the proper French tip. I tested this polish over the entire nail and I found traditional application to be simple. Clean Break offers well defined crackling.

On the nails of my middle fingers, I adhered pale pink cameos with nail glue. I purchased these in a lot from ebay and I wish they were readily available! I would use them with abandon. I bordered the cameos with large pearls and gems. The grey and cream colored roses with pink and green accents are Art Club Petite Fleurs. These decals come on an adhesive backing with gold beads. I decided to build on the color palette from the roses to create an assemblage of finery by adding pearls of various sizes, and pink, green and crystal rhinestones. I first sealed the roses with topcoat and then placed the gems and pearls and added a final layer of topcoat. I varied the design a bit on each hand.

Echinacea, purple coneflower.

Floral fireworks!

My right hand with smaller jewel clusters.

Pretty in Platinum is a soft, grey pearl. This polish is completely opaque in two coats. It has a beautiful sheen and an easy to use formula. I recommend this polish to grey lovers.

What do you ladies think? Do you like the crackle tips and the vintage look?

Items in this post were sent to me for review. Clean Break is part of the Color Club Fractured Collection. Pretty in Platinum is from the Untamed Luxury Collection. Both are available for purchase at victoriasnailsupply.com. I bought the Art Club Petite Fleurs at Sally Beauty.

Happy painting, ladies!

Sunny Side Up

Good Morning,

Orange is such a bright lively color...my mani looks like a tall glass of Orange Juice.  Yummy!  It's my favorite color to wear for the summer months.  Wet N Wild 'Wild Shine' Sunny Side Up did not disappoint me.   It's creamy on the thin side but 3 coats gave me the opacity that I wanted.

Not bad for 99 cents, I picked up a couple of Wild Shines when Walgreens marked them down to 50 cents.  I could not pass up a great deal :P  Woot!

I decided to give  OPI Silver Shatter a try. Using one coat then a topcoat.  I love how the orange is peaking through.  These 2 colors go very well together.

As an accent I used Bundle Monster Plate BM-207 with Konad Special White Polish (I am really lovely these plates ya'll)

There you have it.  I hope you like it :D

I'm still on the lookout for the Mermaid's Cove Collection.

Daisies Blowing In The Wind

Yesterday I got lots of compliments on Yellow Brick Road.  Emma Greenwood said that it looks like custard and it sure does. Lol!  I added some nailart to give it more pizazz.   My dd and some friends just loved my nailart stamping design.  I call it Daisies Blowing In The Wind.

Products Used:
DL Yellow Brick Road
Plate GCOCL C01
Konad special polish in white and blue

If you don't think yellow looks good against your skintone just maybe if you add some nailart to add more coloring to it, it just might work for your skintone.
