China Glaze Techno Teal + Sally Hansen Grey Area

July 30, 2011

WOW! This polish was amazing... I kept staring at its gorgeousness ALL day!!! You just HAVE to click on that top photo above to enlarge it...You can really see how awesome this polish is. This is two coats of China Glaze Techo Teal. Of course, I can't have a manicure without adding a little something extra (even though this polish didn't need it). I stamped it with a leave print or at least I think it is a leave or feather print. I am not really sure....But I used Sally Hansen Grey Area. I chose that color because I didn't want a stamp that popped. I wanted one that kind of blended in. So what do you think?

Retro Peacock...maybe?!

July 2, 2011

I really didn't know what to call this manicure... but in my opinion, it looks like peacock feathers with a retro flare. I had no idea what to call this post. I am working on my 4th of July nails now, and I hope to post them tomorrow. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy this manicure.

Step 1: Apply base coat. I used two coats of Sinful Colors Nirvana.

Step 2: Using Bundle Monster Stamping Plate (BM-212), I stamped on the print with Milani Fresh Teal. By the way, I got a request to do a tutorial on how to use these plates. I will be posting that in the next couple of days.

Step 3: Using a dotting tool, I placed the dots with Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow.

High heels are a girl's best friend...

June 26, 2011

I think this manicure is fun (and makes me want to watch the Sex in the City movies !

I used two coats of Sally Hansen Caribbean Coral. Then I used the Bundle Monster stamping plate (BM-213) to stamp on the "high heel" print.

A touch of lime...

This manicure screams summer, and it was a lot of fun to wear... I painted every nail except the ring finger with two coats of Sally Hansen Ivy League. On the ring finger, I used two coats of OPI Alpine Snow, which I hate using. I always have trouble using this polish.

Using Bundle Monster Stamping Plate (BM04), I stamped on the limes with Sinful Colors Last Chance on all nails except the middle finger. On the middle finger, I stamped on the design with Bundle Monster Stamping Plate (BM-206) with  OPI Alpine Snow

What do you think of this very mix and match manicure?

Flower Power with a neon flare....

June 21, 2011

I am not a fan of these pictures, but I have to post what I have.....I alternated painting my nails with a base coat of Sally Hansen Sun Kissed and Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. These colors have a neon look to them. I paired these two colors together well... because.... Nathan (my husband) picked them out (shhhh, don't tell him I told you this).... I used the typical Bundle Monster stamping plates to stamp on the flower design in alternating colors--meaning if the nail base coat was Sun Kissed, I stamped it with Pacific Blue and vice versa.... This manicure has a real summer feel to it....

Seeing Stripes

And more bundle monster stamping plates for your viewing pleasure....

The base coat is Vacation Time by Sinful Colors. It is two coats with no top coat. Then I used the stamping plates with Konad Special Nail Polish in Jungle Green in the stripe pattern. Then I followed with a clear top coat by Sally Hansen.

Sealed with a KISS!!!

JUNE 12, 2011

If you're looking to spice up the typical french manicure, this might be the solution for you...

I used a Sally Hansen French Manicure Pen (pure white) for the tips. After trying out this pen, I definitely prefer using the french tip stickers and regular polish. The pen was difficult for me to use--either the polish came out to thick or to thin. I had to do one of the nails over because the polish ran everywhere. Toward the end of my manicure, I got the hang of the pen---but it was frustrating to use. I used the Bundle Monster stamping plate with Konad Nail Art Stamping Princess Special Polish in cool red for the little red lips

I was curious to see what the manicure would look like if I applied the "kiss" to all my nails. I prefer only doing the stamp on two of my nails. Which do you like better?

River of gumdrops: Diamond Cosmetics Orange Blush

Hello ladies,

The corner grocery store a few blocks from my apartment ordered too many gumdrops. I wonder if there was some type of mishap on the request form, a shipping error or an incredible warehouse sale that led to the pile up of tiny, clear tubs of gumdrops at the counter. The squishy, sugar coated rainbow has invaded the aisle of nuts and snacks. The gumdrops have taken over my nail art. I am certain the gumdrops are occupying the collective unconscious of my neighbors and perhaps their dreams as well. Gumdrops!

With white Konad special polish, I stamped the dot pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM209. I angled the design to create a subtle zig zag. Gumdrops are bouncy and wouldn't move in a straight line. With the Art Club sealer topcoat, I adhered a rainbow of gems across each nail.

Nature's pom poms!

Orange Blush is a sheer jelly polish. Not a pure orange, it has a lovely pinkish hue that would make it skin flattering to almost everyone. The first day, I wore two coats over Super Base, which offers subtle whitening. I added two more coats on the second day, followed by the nail art. Orange Blush can be worn as a sheer or can be built up to a stronger tint. A whitening base or slipcover nude would be needed to make this color fully opaque. It's super pretty and glossy. I would recommend Orange Blush to cool tone ladies who want a juicy summer color.

I hope you like the manicure. May your dreams be filled with gumdrops, as mine are!

Orange Blush was sent to me for review. US residents can purchase this polish from diamondcosmetics.com. International shipping is available from boozyshop.nl.

Happy painting, ladies!

Sunny Side Up

Good Morning,

Orange is such a bright lively color...my mani looks like a tall glass of Orange Juice.  Yummy!  It's my favorite color to wear for the summer months.  Wet N Wild 'Wild Shine' Sunny Side Up did not disappoint me.   It's creamy on the thin side but 3 coats gave me the opacity that I wanted.

Not bad for 99 cents, I picked up a couple of Wild Shines when Walgreens marked them down to 50 cents.  I could not pass up a great deal :P  Woot!

I decided to give  OPI Silver Shatter a try. Using one coat then a topcoat.  I love how the orange is peaking through.  These 2 colors go very well together.

As an accent I used Bundle Monster Plate BM-207 with Konad Special White Polish (I am really lovely these plates ya'll)

There you have it.  I hope you like it :D

I'm still on the lookout for the Mermaid's Cove Collection.

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

Garter toss: BB Couture Selene

Hello ladies,

June is a bridal month and weekends seem to be ornamented with bridesmaids and wedding bouquets in Rittenhouse Square. I created a garter toss manicure to go with all the satin, flowers and ribbons being paraded about.

With Konad white special polish, I stamped the lace ribbon from Bundle Monster plate BM210. I accented the center line with pearls from Born Pretty Store and pastel pink and hot pink jewels. The design made gem placement simple; I counted the circles in the weave of the lace to find the exact center for the large pearl. When using gems to embellish a design, I love experimenting with size and color.

Since I have been enjoying thin line French lately, I painted a sparkling stripe with Art Club crystal glitter. If you decide to work with this technique, I recommend painting the French after you add topcoat. I find that sealing the edge can subtly distort the line. I haven't had any issues with the Art Club glitter striper lines chipping or flaking, even without topcoat.

I befriended a tiny pollinator.

A coordinating petunia.

BB Couture Selene is a new favorite pink! Its glossy, jelly formula is stirred with silver and diaphanous green glitter. So lovely! I am wearing four coats here, but three would suffice for most ladies with active length nails. If you are looking for a pretty pink for summer, put Selene on your wish list. It is worth adding to your collection.

I hope you enjoyed my garter toss manicure! It would be a fun look to wear to a bridal shower or wedding.

Selene was sent to me for review. This polish is part of the A Touch of Greece/Ladies Collection, available for purchase at overallbeauty.com.

Happy painting, ladies!
