Nails Inc Victoria and Bundle Monster Nail Art!

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm showing you one of my favourite Nails Inc London polishes, called Victoria. It is a gorgeous dark, dark, plum red, that deepens with the more layers you paint on. The first coat is almost a bright cerise colour, but by coat three, you've got a really deep sexy red/black - it's how I imagine Vampire Blood would look like, only much more sophisticated and beautiful, OBVIOUSLY.

It looks almost black indoors, but when the sun shines on it you can really see that deep, claret colour coming through. This is sans topcoat as well, it is the glossiest polish ever!:

You know me, I just couldn't leave it alone, could I?! I added some nail art, using Miss Sporty Electric Beige to stamp the swirly image from BundleMonster image plate BM04.

I know it's not quite as interesting today, but sometimes I do like to look sophisticated, as opposed to ridiculous, ya knooooow?! Haha, it's a far cry from banana nails, that's for sure. I'll make up for it tomorrow, you can count on that!

What do you think to this shade? It was the quickest Mani ever, so great if you're in a hurry to do something smart, but you've not left enough time to get ready - story of my life!
Hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday, stop by tomorrow because I will be having a GIVEAWAY. NOOICE!

In other news, if you all "like" Cadbury Caramel Bunny on Facebook, you might get a nice surprise on Friday! (Hint: IT'S MY FACE. And Manicures!)

Minnie Mouse - Disney Nail Art

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for my absence, I've been on holiday in Majorca! Me and my family had a lovely time, it was great to unwind for a week and catch some sunshine, as well as stuff my face - something I am rather good at.

I popped on a new manicure as soon as I got back, and, inspired my excitement for m next holiday (a trip to Disney Land), I decided upon Minnie Mouse Nails!

I started with a base of Barry M Peach Melba (the Barry M Red polish I used really "pops" when it's applied over a light, neutral colour, it's a bit sheer and dull, otherwise), and then added two coats of Barry M Red. I used Konad White Special Polish and Image Plate M79 for the polka dots, and freehanded in some black bows using Claire's Black Nail Art Pen. For the Accent nail, I mixed American Apparel Palm Springs with a little Natural Collection White Polish and painted the whole nail. I then added the details using Claire's Nail Art Pen in Black and White. I topped it all off with Rimmel's 60 Second Topcoat!

So there we are! I'm sure I will be sporting this a lot when I'm over in America! Let me know what you think guys, I love Disney so I'm sure there'll be a lot more where this came from!

I also had some interesting blog traffic this week, and logged on to find a lot of referrals from www.bodycare.becomegorgeous.com, who have written and article on little old me, in relation to summer nail art trends. You can check it out HERE! :D

Diet Coke inspired

I was sat in the sunshine, guzzling a gallon of Diet Coke (more commonly referred to as Dissertation Fuel/Hangover Cure) and decided to transfer the pattern on the ASOS.com Competition bottles onto my naaaailllzzz. I could've incorporated some fun freehand in to this, but wanted to do something quick and easy.

I started with a base of Catrice Be My Millionaire (acquired recently from a giveaway win over at colourful bottle - thanks Dolores!). This is a rather sheer silver, so I applied 4 coats. I then used Barry M Bright Red to stamp with. I chose not to use the Konad Special Polish in red, because I wanted some of the shininess of the Silver to show through! Here is the bottle I used for inspiration, and some sunny pictures of the Mani!

I tell you, I think my nails are becoming free advertising space! This was a fun, and it was nice to do something quick, bright and eye catching!
News on the Bundle Monster contest is that I didn't win, unfortunately, but never mind! I was going to buy the new set of plates (the prize) anyway, and it was fun to enter - thank you to everyone who gave me a vote, it is very much appreciated :D

I have just returned from an over night Spa day at a fancy hotel, for my 21st birthday (which isn't until June - any excuse eh?!) so I am nice and relaaaaaaaxed! I hope you're all well and lovely!

Nauti-cool nails

...Yes, I'm just THAT pun-tastic. I don't know why I'm loving nautical this week, but here's another super-sailor manicure done with mostly Bloom Polishes - only managed one good picture:

Didn't come out terribly neat, I think I had a clog in my Claire's Black Nail Art Pen but I was too lazy to jog upstairs and poke a pin in it.
I didn't want a bright white, so did a base layer of Nails Inc Caramel, followed by two coats of Bloom's Nicole - looove this polish, it's a muted cream - goes on really nicely and dries shiny shiny. Good for both an opaque look or a frenchie.

I then added some red stripes with a stiping brush, using Barry M Red, and added a coat of Seche Vite.

Ha horizontal stripes make you look fat. When it was completely dry, I taped off the nails diagonally, and added two coats of Bloom's The Cassette Society 1. My original plan was to stamp the anchor image from one of the Bundle Monster Image Plates, but my nails are too little at the moment and it was too large, so I resigned myself to free-handing them in using Bloom's Goldie and Barry M Mushroom.
I used Barry M mushroom and some yellow acrylic paint (which was a bit of a gloopy disaster) to make the rope, first as a stripe, then adding the detail with Claire's Black Nail Art Pen. LAVLY.

I hope you like it! Let me know what you think! Is it a look you would wear?

Also, I found an old sketch book today, and this little guy was cotching in it. I must've been fourteen when I drew this. I forgot I could draw, how weird is that?! I freakin' LOVE crayons. Like a lot. Too much.

oh heeeeeey

I can smell a frog Manicure. It smells of old leaves and awesomeness.

:D

NailsInc Hans Road

First things first, you can now find my Cadbury Chocolate Manicure from THIS post on the Cadbury Website and Blog, as well as their Facebook page where it has 1500 likes and 350 comments! Mental!! Some kind person tweeted my picture at them and they decided to feature me! Unfortunately, Cadbury's got my name wrong (they got 'Keely Gallagher' from somewhere?!) so I'm not getting any credit :( :( They can't change it on the fb post so I don't really know what to do about that :(

The next new Nails Inc that I swatched for you is Hans Road - The reddypinkyorangeshimmery jelly one. It reeeaaalllyy isn't 'me' and not one I would normally buy! I prefer bright creams and felt this was a bit old fashioned - maybe good for Christmas?

with flash - click to zoom and see the pinky shimmer

This is 3 coats, and you can still see the nail line - I refuse to do four, I feel so wasteful! It has a good shine on it, and it IS an interesting polish - but just not for me. I added some White Stars from Bundlemonster plate BM05 (really just to test out my Konad White Special Polish!) and it came out looking a wee bit Captain America...I didn't keep this on for long haha!

I topped it off with the Nails Inc UV basecoat and Topcoat, and it turned the white stars a purpley colour ha! It definitely brightened the whole manicure, and if you want a cooler purple tone to a polish, add a slick of this! It did what it set out to do - lighten and brighten - so this polish gets my stamp of approval :D The purple tone will also counter any yellowness in the nails, so if you're having a break from colour, and looking a bit stained, this is for you.

watch out for the next Nails Inc tomorrow!

Gotta Catch 'Em All!

So today is the UK release date for the new Pokemon Black and White game...and I'm kind of a fan :P My Brother and I played as kids, and I guess I've still not grown up! I went into town and picked it up today, and it's all very exciting! Small things please small minds!! Here are my celebratory nails:-
Pokeballs on the thumbs and Pikachu on the left ring finger! :D

Squirtle on the right ring finger :D

Just a bit of fun!!
The Red Polish is Barry M (all the words have rubbed off, I don't know what shade it is!!) and the Blue, for Squirtle is Barry M Turquoise. I used Rimmel Lemon Drop for Pikachu's face, and Claire's Nail Art Pens for the details. This is my first attempt at moderately intricate freehand nail art, and you can really appreciate a steady hand!! To create the Pokeballs I painted the thumb nails white with Rimmel's Tip Whitener, then taped it off with Scotch Tape halfway down and painted them red. I filled in the detail with a black striper and white nail art pen.
I also got some new polishes today (this is getting out of hand!) and some other bits and bobs that I will show you tomorrow!
Let me know what you think of the Pokenails, the shop assistant appreciated them haha!
I hope you're all well, lovely followers. Any suggestions of what you'd like to see from me soon?
Have a Pokelicious day :P x
